Product Information
6mm Corten Tree Rings
A heavier build for a serious statement. Double the thickness, built to last a lifetime.
When 3mm isn't enough — larger gardens, high-traffic areas, commercial landscaping, or spaces that call for something architectural — we roll the same ring system at double the thickness.
Made differently
Rolled in-house from 6mm Bluescope Redcor Corten steel with our proprietary bracket welded low inside the ring. 316 marine-grade stainless hardware pulls the single split closed once you've placed the ring around your tree.
At 6mm the ring is substantial enough to sit on its own — no pegging, no anchoring, no lateral movement. It's heavy steel that stays exactly where you put it.
The join is invisible from the outside once installed. No staples, no exposed screws, no panelled look.
The finish
Raw silver on arrival, developing a rich and even rust patina over the first few weeks outdoors. Corten is the material used for bridges and public sculpture — designed to live outside, designed to get better with age. The patina seals the steel and protects it from rusting through.
What arrives at your door
- One pre-rolled, pre-welded 6mm Corten ring
- 316 marine-grade stainless steel hardware
- No construction. No tools required.
1520mm rings ship in two pieces for safe handling. Both joins are equally invisible once installed.
Why 6mm
6mm is overkill for a backyard tree ring — and that's the point. It's for people who want the visual weight of heavy steel, something their kids' kids will still be using. It looks more like a permanent landscape feature than a garden accessory, and it'll outlast almost everything else in the garden.

Material
Material — BlueScope REDCOR® Weathering Steel
Our tree rings are manufactured from 6mm BlueScope REDCOR® — Australia's premium weathering steel, and the same material used in architectural cladding, bridges, and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Unlike standard mild steel that rusts through, REDCOR® is engineered to rust on purpose. When exposed to the elements, it develops a dense, tightly bonded patina that actively seals the surface and stops corrosion from penetrating deeper. No paint. No coating. No maintenance. The rust is the protection.
The result is a rich, warm, earthy tone that deepens and evolves over time — blending naturally into garden environments in a way that painted or galvanised alternatives simply can't replicate.
Strength
REDCOR® is a higher-tensile steel — the upper end of what's available in this product category.
At 6mm thick, this gives these rings a rigidity and weight that you'll feel the moment you pick it up. Compared to the 1.6mm products common in the market, it's not a subtle difference — it's night and day.
In short: it gets stronger and better looking with age, requires zero upkeep, and is built from Australian steel by an Australian manufacturer. There's genuinely nothing better suited to a product that lives in the ground, year-round, in Australian conditions.

These flat rates reflect the reality of shipping a heavy, quality product. 3mm steel is dense — a full pallet is substantial freight. We're able to offer these rates through volume, and we think they're genuinely competitive for what's being moved.
Smaller orders? No problem. Enter your postcode at checkout and live shipping options will display, including express delivery if you need it in a hurry.
How is it delivered? Orders are strapped and wrapped on a pallet and sent direct from our factory. Your carrier will arrive with a tail lift and pallet jack and unload it to your property — you won't need to lift a thing off the truck.
