Made differently
Rolled from 3mm BlueScope REDCOR® — Australia's premium weathering steel, the same material used in architectural cladding, bridges, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Every length is laser cut for a burr-free finish and CNC folded for precision — which matters more than it sounds. Joiners meet the lengths with a clean, gap-free seat every time, and there's no sharp cut edge to handle or finish during install.
Most garden edging on the market sits at 1.5–2mm, which looks fine on day one but flexes, buckles, and deforms within a season. At 3mm, LazyEdge holds a crisp line for decades — and where you want a curve, you bend it cleanly by hand to exactly the radius you need.
How the LazyEdge system works
Your lengths pair with our tool-less LazyEdge joiners — sold separately, or grab a bundle pack with everything matched.
Each joiner has an integrated peg built in. No loose parts to misplace, no pegs to line up separately. Slide one length into the joiner, slide the next length in from the other side, push the integrated peg into the ground. That's the whole install. No bolts. No screws. No drilling.
Joiners come in two styles:
- Straight — connects two lengths end to end
- Corner — 90° or 45°, internal and external, with custom angles available on request
The joiners aren't just functional — they sit as a deliberate design feature on the face of the edging, creating a clean vertical line where two lengths meet. As the steel patinas and everything settles in, those joints read as intentional detail rather than construction — a cohesive, timeless finish that suits classic and contemporary gardens alike.
Need to cut a length? A grinder with a cutting wheel does the job in seconds — and because the cut end slides inside the joiner, your rough edge is completely hidden once installed. Prefer not to cut at home? Our Custom-Cuts product lets you specify any length and we'll cut it in the factory before shipping.

How to measure up

Prefer to measure it yourself?
No worries — here's how.
1. Lineal metres
Run your tape measure along every edge you want to bed. Add the totals together. That's your lineal metre requirement.
Divide that total by 2.4 to work out how many full-length pieces you'll need. Round up.
Example: 30 lineal metres ÷ 2.4m = 12.5 lengths → order 13.
2. Joiners
You'll need one joiner for every connection between two lengths — which works out to one less than your total length count.
Example: 13 lengths → 12 joiners.
Joiners come in three types:
- Straight — connects two lengths end to end along a run
- Outside corner — for a corner where both edges run away from where you're standing
- Inside corner — for a corner where both edges run toward where you're standing
If you're standing at a corner and can't picture it, the rule is: outside corners wrap around a bed; inside corners tuck into one.
3. Pegs
At 3mm, LazyEdge is heavy enough that most installs don't need extra pegs between joiners — the joiners themselves have integrated pegs, and the edging weight alone holds a straight run in place once you've tapped it 5mm into the soil.
You will want loose pegs for:
- Starting or finishing a run against a wall, fence, or hard edge
- Holding tight curves or complex shapes in place
- Long unsupported runs in loose or sandy soil
4. After-order support
